Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Virtu X Telu Bar Takeover at Four Seasons Resort Bali Jimbaran Bay, and what a night it was! The event was nothing short of spectacular, featuring VIRTÙ, the renowned bar from Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi, recently ranked #11 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024. I was fortunate enough to be invited as part of a curated guest list of mixology enthusiasts, and from the moment I stepped in, I knew it was going to be a special evening.
The evening kicked off with a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for mingling with a few media friends and the always-welcoming staff at Four Seasons. Their hospitality, as expected, was top-notch, making everyone feel at home while still maintaining that luxurious vibe that the Four Seasons is known for. Conversations flowed just as easily as the cocktails, with bartenders Keith from VIRTÙ, Jan from Telu Bar, and Sangwoon Jo leading the charge behind the bar.
One of the highlights of the night for me was getting the chance to chat with these brilliant bartenders. Keith, with his modern Japanese techniques, Jan, our host at Telu, and Sangwoon Jo, each brought their own flair and passion to the evening. We talked about everything from mixology trends to their unique approaches to cocktail-making. It’s always inspiring to hear directly from the creators themselves and gain insight into their process, which adds another layer of appreciation to each sip.
A Standout Cocktail: TAKARA
Now, let’s talk about the drinks! While the whole menu was impressive, my absolute favorite of the night was the TAKARA. This cocktail was a beautiful mix of Johnnie Walker Blonde, yellow chartreuse, Rosso vermouth, denki bran, and orange bitter. The balance of flavors was impeccable—strong yet smooth, with a complexity that left me savoring every last drop. I found myself going back for seconds… and thirds!
What set this event apart was not just the quality of the drinks but the atmosphere and the people. The guest list was clearly curated, filled with those who truly appreciate the art of mixology. It wasn’t just about drinking; it was about the experience—the craft, the storytelling behind each cocktail, and the sense of community among those who attended.
Overall, the Virtu X Telu Bar Takeover was an unforgettable night filled with great drinks, even better company, and a shared love for mixology. It was an honor to be part of such an exclusive gathering, and I can’t wait to see what both Virtu and Telu Bar have in store for the future. If you ever have the chance to attend one of these events, don’t hesitate—it’s an experience worth savoring.
Cheers to great nights like this one! With Love,
